CHAMPIONSHIP PREVIEW

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- The 2023 River States Conference Volleyball Championship bracket is officially announced at RiverStatesConference.com. The eight-team championship will take place Nov. 7-11 with the winner advancing to the NAIA National Championship.

A new format is in place this year with the quarterfinal-round being played at campus sites on Tuesday, Nov. 7. The winners will advance to the site of the highest-remaining seed, where the remaining matches will be played Friday, Nov. 10 for the semifinals and Saturday, Nov. 11 for the finals.

The RSC volleyball points system was used to determine the eight playoff qualifiers and the seeds. The top eight teams in the points standings made the championship, regardless of division. This year's bracket has four teams each from the RSC East & West Division. The RSC West will host three of the four quarterfinal matches.

No. 1 seed Indiana University Kokomo leads the bracket as the overall RSC regular-season and RSC West Division champion. The Cougars, ranked No. 14 in the NAIA Top 25, are 29-3 overall and a perfect 19-0 RSC. IU Kokomo has already guaranteed an NAIA national tournament bid by winning the regular season. The Cougars host No. 8 IU Southeast (15-14, 10-9 RSC) in the RSC quarterfinals.

No. 2 seed IU East is the RSC East Division champion and leads the other side of the bracket. The Red Wolves are 25-7 overall, 17-2 RSC and host No. 7 WVU Tech (15-16, 11-8 RSC) in another divisional matchup in the quarterfinals.

Oakland City (Ind.) University earned the No. 3 seed at 16-9 overall, 14-5 RSC. The Mighty Oaks host No. 6 Shawnee State (Ohio) (16-11, 11-8 RSC) in the quarterfinals. St. Mary-of-the-Woods (Ind.) was also 14-5 RSC and earned the No. 4 seed.
