MIDWAY, Ky. -- Indiana University East won the 2023 River States Conference Women's Cross Country Championship to claim the first title in team history. The Red Wolves topped the field of 12 teams competing at Falling Spring Cross Country Course on Saturday, Nov. 4.

IU East had 58 points to win the team title. Shawnee State (Ohio) University was the runner-up with 89 points followed by Indiana University Kokomo in third with 96.

IU East had four all-conference performers and put all five of its scorers in the Top 25 finishers overall to power its way to the championship. Cassandra Schrubb led the way in second place overall with teammate Chloe Scales in fourth.

Red Wolves head coach Cam Tiberg was chosen RSC Coach of the Year for leading his team to the NAIA National Championship bid out of the conference.

Hannah Wells from IU Kokomo had a big performance as the overall first-place winner and RSC Runner of the Year. She also claimed RSC Newcomer of the Year honors.
