IU Kokomo's Duncan named All-American in shot put at NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships

MARION, Ind. – On a mostly quiet second day at the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, IU Kokomo's (Ind.) Sydney Duncan was able to cap her stellar freshman season as a multi-time All-American.

Duncan, the 2024 River States Field Athlete and Newcomer of the Year, placed eighth in the shot put, topping out at 14.04 meters on her second throw of the day.

It was the second All-American shot put finish of the year for Duncan, who placed sixth in the event with a throw of 14.07 meters at the Indoor Championships in March.

The performance also gave the Cougars their second All-American in as many days, following Emma Byrum's fourth-place finish in javelin on Wednesday.
