Red Wolves pad lead with 18 holes to play at RSC Women's Golf Championship

DANIELS, W.Va. -- IU East (Ind.) added to their lead and will now take an eight-shot advantage into tomorrow's final round of the River States Conference Women's Golf Championship at The Resort at Glade Springs in Daniels, West Virginia.

The Red Wolves, who took a one-shot lead following the opening round on Sunday, fired a 332 in Monday's second round to bring their championship total to 659 over the opening 36 holes.

Midway (Ky.), who carded a 328 in the first round, shot a 339 today bringing their total to 667, while St. Mary-of-the-Woods (Ind.) remained in third place with a two-round total of a 680 (326-344).

IU Kokomo (Ind.) moved up one spot on the leaderboard with a 708 (361-347), while Oakland City (Ind.) and Rio Grande (Ohio) sit in fifth and sixth, respectively, with a 724 (361-363) and a 749 (358-391).

Shawnee State (Ohio), meanwhile, is in seventh with a 793 (386-407), and Alice Lloyd (Ind.) is currently in eighth with a 1,042 (533-509).

Not only did IU East add to their lead on the top spot on the team leaderboard, but Brooklynn Cromwell padded her lead in the race for individual medalist. The senior shot another 78 on Monday bringing her total to 156 for the two days extending her lead to six-shots.

IU Kokomo's Gracie Tucker moved into solo second with a 162 (81-81), while IU East's Liv Sanders and Midway's Maryssa Phillips are tie for third with a 163.

Renae Jaeger of St. Mary-of-the-Woods made the biggest jump of anyone moving up nine spots on the leaderboard. Jaeger moved into fifth following a 7-over 79 on Monday to bring her championship total to 165.

Monday's second round is scheduled to get underway beginning at 10 a.m. ET. Rio Grande, Oakland City, and IU Kokomo will tee off from No. 1 at 10 a.m., while St. Mary-of-the-Woods, Midway, and IU East will also tee off No. 1 beginning at 10:50 a.m. ET.

Point Park (Pa.), Alice Lloyd, and Shawnee State, meanwhile, will tee off from No. 10 starting at 10:30 a.m. ET.
