CHAMPIONSHIP PREVIEW

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- The 2023-24 River States Conference Women's Basketball Championship bracket is set with 10 teams playing it out on campus sites from Feb. 26 to March 5. The winner will earn automatic qualification to the NAIA National Championship the following week.

The top five teams from each of the RSC East and West Divisions qualified for the championship. The championship qualifiers and seedings were determined by the RSC points system, a weighted average of wins and losses based on home and away and strength of opponent. The points system seeds the teams 1-10 regardless of division.

University of Rio Grande (Ohio) came out on top in the points system and thus is the RSC regular-season champion and the No. 1 seed in the RSC Championship. The RedStorm, at 23-5 overall and 16-1 RSC have earned automatic qualification to the NAIA National Championship with those honors and won the RSC East Division.

Oakland City (Ind.) University is the No. 2 seed and the RSC West Division champion. The Mighty Oaks are 21-6 overall and 17-1 RSC.

The RSC Championship begins on Monday, Feb. 26 with two first-round games. No. 9 Alice Lloyd (Ky.) College (11-16, 6-11 RSC) plays at No. 8 Midway (Ky.) University (12-16, 8-10 RSC) with the winner moving on to play at No. 1 Rio Grande in the quarterfinals on Wednesday, Feb. 28.
