Gomez named RSC Women's Basketball Player of the Week

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- Irye Gomez from St. Mary-of-the-Woods (Ind.) College is the River States Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for Jan. 8-14.

A junior, Gomez scored 35 points in a big win over IU Kokomo, which improved the Pomeroys to 4-2 RSC. The prolific performance included six made 3-pointers in 13 attempts and 13 for 19 field goals overall. 

Gomez played 29 minutes to lead St. Mary-of-the-Woods to the 90-76 victory.
