Fletcher garners RSC Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- Chevaughn Fletcher from Point Park (Pa.) University is the River States Conference Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week for Jan. 15. The first award of the year is for all events in 2023-24. 

A sophomore from Jamaica, Fletcher leads the RSC in the weight throw and shot put. He is No. 2 in the NAIA in the weight throw with an national-qualying mark of 19.65 meters, well above the 17.30 standard. 

Fletcher has won the weight throw at YSU and Marshall, a pair of DI meets. In the shot put, he won at Indiana Tech with a distance of 14.92 meters to lead the RSC. He was also fourth in the shot at Marshall.
