Seahawks end Pioneers run in Waleska Bracket of NAIA Baseball Opening Round

WALESKA, Ga. -- No. 3 Point Park (Pa.) saw its season come to an end on Wednesday (May 15) after suffering a 15-4 loss to No. 4 Keiser (Fla.) in the Waleska Bracket of the NAIA Baseball National Championship Opening Round.

The Seahawks, who improved to 34-22 with the win, pounced on the Pioneers in the early going, scoring four in the first and two in the second to take a 6-0 lead into the third.

The Pioneers got on the board and got themselves back in the game in the third after scoring four runs on three hits.

Eddie Javier Jr. got his team on the board after reaching on a bases loaded walk before Chris Williams, the RSC Baseball Freshman of the Year, drove in a run with an RBI groundout. Jordon Campbell and Luis Gonzalez then hit back-to-back RBI singles to bring the Pioneers within 6-4.

Unfortunately for the Pioneers, those would be the only runs they would push across the plate as Keiser answered, scoring two in the third and five in the fifth before scoring single runs in the sixth and eighth en route to a 15-4 victory.

The final six innings saw the Pioneers have just three base runners as they were kept in check by Jake Molloy, who entered the game in relief in the third inning. He pitched the final 6.2 innings and allowed five hits with four strikeouts.

John Hawley was pinned with the loss after allowing four runs on two hits in his 0.2 innings of work.
