Dylan Brown Named RSC Sports Information Director of the Year

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio- The River States Conference is pleased to announce the selection of Midway University Assistant Athletic Director Dylan Brown as the 2023-24 River States Conference Sports Information Director of the Year. This accolade marks Brown's fourth selection as the RSC's top athletic communications professional, the most by any individual in the ten-year history of the award.

The River States Conference SID of the Year award was established in 2014-15. It annually recognizes one honoree for outstanding service and dedication to the sports information role in promotion of their student-athletes, school, conference and the NAIA. It is voted on by athletic directors and SIDs within the conference.

The first person to ever win the RSC SID of the Year Award in consecutive years, Brown has now done so twice, winning the award in 2018, 2019, 2023, and now 2024.

Brown served Midway University as its Sports Information Director for seven years before earning a promotion to Assistant Athletic Director. In his time as the SID at Midway, he set the standard as the school's first-ever full time athletic communications staffer. He launched both live stat and live video operations for the Eagles, and played an instrumental role in the coverage of some of Midway's top teams over the past eight years.

In his nomination materials, a colleague referred to Brown as the "backbone" of the Eagles' athletic department.

"He has, in the past, proven himself as the backbone of Midway University athletics and has been more than willing to give of himself at the school and conference levels," the nominator wrote. " There's no better way to show him our appreciation as a league than to award him this honor."

Brown's efforts extended beyond the campus of Midway University, as he also played a major role in the administration of several RSC championship events, including golf and baseball.
