Amanda Dailey-Weaver Named RSC Athletic Director of the Year

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- The River States Conference is pleased to announce the selection of Indiana University Southeast's Amanda Dailey-Weaver as the 2023-24 River States Conference Athletic Director of the Year. Dailey-Weaver recently finished a three-year stint as the head of the Grenadiers' athletic department, and was selected by her conference peers.

Dailey-Weaver spent 19 years in the Grenadiers' athletic department, serving as Associate Athletic Director and Senior Women's Administrator before being elevated to Interim Director of Athletics in October of 2021. In her final season at IU Southeast, the Grenadiers finished top of the table in the West Division in both baseball and softball, leading to a national tournament selection in both sports.

In her nomination materials, Dailey-Weaver was described as an innovative voice at IU Southeast, leading to an exceptional student-athlete experience on that campus.

"Her passion for the success of our student-athletes has led to record numbers of scholar athletes and team GPAs that are constantly over .5 better than the general student body," wrote Dailey-Weaver's nominator. "Despite budget cuts and increased operational costs, she has found creative ways to minimize the impact on the teams, including identifying new revenue streams and soliciting new partnerships and sponsorships."

The same nominator added that Dailey-Weaver will be sorely missed at IU Southeast.

"Her tireless efforts have kept this department not only running but continuing to strive for excellence and growth in the face of discouraging odds," they wrote. "Her leadership and experience will be very hard to replace and I believe she is deserving of this recognition for the sacrifices and dedication shown to IU Southeast and the River States Conference."
